Something New for 30 Days

I recently viewed a video on TED featuring a Google engineer named Matt Cutts. It was entitled “Try Something New for 30 Days” and it was about three and a half minutes long.  If you are unfamiliar with TED, please take a moment to check it out.  It features video talks by people from all different industries.  It is very cool.  Anyway, Matt Cutts spoke about participating “Morgan Spurlock-style” in 30 day challenges in response to feeling like he was in a rut.  His talk was insiteful and inspired me to once again, take on another thirty day challenge.  Watch the video!

If you are familiar with my blog, you know that I completed a thirty day photo challenge in September.  It was a lot more difficult than I anticipated, but I am ready to try it again thanks to Matt Cutts.  In his talk, he also mentions the novel writing challenge to write a book in thirty days. I have signed up at NaNoWriMo.org (National Novel Writing Month).  It should be interesting because it requires you to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. That averages out to approximately 1,667 words per day. I will have to keep you posted on how that goes.  It begins November 1st.
